Wow! A huge tree was blocking the street this am. I hope no one was injured. We have a few of these trees that are leaning a bit and need to be removed or something.

Market update for 5/23/2011 to 6/23/2011
Today we have 278 Active Listings on the MLS in all of Aliso Viejo
179 listings are in Back up or Pending Status
We closed 63 listings in the time period.
There are currently 47 Rental properties listed on the MLS.
(the only thing that skews this data is that some listings that show active really have offers on them but are Short Sales and the agents don't take them out of Active status. This has been going on for quite sometime.)
The market appears to be stable and hasn't changed all that much. We continue to have moderate inventory and about the same amount of homes keep selling each month.

Aliso Viejo Ranch
Here is a cool little spot in our community. It used to be a real ranch area and had animals, an old barn and such. Now the community uses it occasionally for
events. It is located just accross the street from the AV Middle School off of Cedarbrook. There have been talks in the past of it becoming a community center which was voted down by the people. Some people would like to see a passive park with community gardens. I believe it is all up in the air at this time.

It has some ball fields, 2 tot lots, lots of trees, dog bag dispensers, bathrooms and a pretty nice sized parking lot. Aliso Viejo prides itself in having a park nearby most any neighborhood you live in and this one is really nice. You just need to time your visit so you are not going in the school traffic which can be a bit busy

June is Microchip Madness Month
June is Microchip Madness Month
In honor of Microchip Madness Month, the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center will host a vaccination and microchip clinic from 7 to 8:30 p.m. June 8 at 28095 Hillcrest. The center has been serving Aliso Viejo since 2009. Residents can get their pets microchipped and register the microchip for $20.
The multitude of natural disasters that have impacted the country and beyond over the last few years serve as a reminder that people and their pets can easily become separated. And summer - more than anytime during the year - holds its own perils, with Los Angeles and Orange County animal shelters inundated with lost pets due to fireworks, doors left open during warmer weather and such. The best way to reunite lost pets with their owners is when a pet is properly and permanently identified with a microchip.
The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center advocates the placement of a microchip in all pets. Collars can fall off or be removed. Microchips are a permanent means of identifying your pet whether they are lost locally or on a family trip.
The size of a grain of rice, microchips are painlessly injected under the skin using a syringe similar to a vaccination. It is also essential to register the microchip and keep your contact information current with the company that registered your chip.
For more information, call 949-470-3045.
The City of Aliso Viejo, which incorporated July 1, 2001, encompasses approximately 7 square miles with over 46,123 residents. The City's annual budget is approximately $21 million. Aliso Viejo has 23 parks, vast open space and top-notch amenities including the Aliso Viejo Ranch and the City's new Conference Center and Aquatic Center.
