Several people cast their votes to see "Finding Nemo" during the Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center's Movie Night Thursday, Aug. 26. The City facility asked residents to choose their favorite family-friendly flick from a list of 10 by e-mail or posting their choice to the Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center (AVAC) Facebook page. The beloved animated film received the most votes out of the nearly 50 people who weighed in.
The evening, which blends a night at the movies with a dip in the pool, kicks off at 7:00 p.m. at the resort-style facility located at 29 Santa Barbara. The Oasis Cafe will be open to 7:30 p.m. providing a host of delectable snacks to enjoy during the G-rated film.
Movie Night is $5 for adults; $3 for youth

Join in with family, friends and neighbors on Friday, August 20th, to see the featured movie "UP" to be shown at Aliso Viejo Town Center's Grand Park, from 7:30 to 10:00 PM. Dress warm and bring your low-back beach chair to view this PG-rated movie. Admission is free. Movie begins at dusk.
On Sunday, August 22nd, the next Summer Concert Series at Grand Park will feature "Lights", a Journey tribute band. Concert starts at 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Complimentary face painting and an opportunity drawing will be held.

Low-cost pet vaccination clinic Aug. 11
The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center on Wednesday, Aug. 11 will host a low-cost vaccination and microchip clinic for Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo and Laguna Niguel pet owners.
The clinic, hosted with the Southern California Veterinary Vaccine Clinic, will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at 28095 Hillcrest.
Dog vaccines include Rabies $6; DHPP $15; and Bordetella $12. Cat vaccines include Rabies $6; Purevax Rabies $20; and FVRCP $15.
Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo and Laguna Niguel pet owners can also have their animals licensed at the clinic. A license is required for all dogs starting at the age of 4 months.
Microchipping is available for $20.
The vaccine clinic will accept cash only and microchips can be paid for by cash, check or Visa/MasterCard.

Aug 16th Event at The AV Aquatic Center
Olympic gold medalist visits Aliso Viejo Aug. 16
The public is invited to have lunch at the pool with US swimmer and Olympic gold medalist Kaitlin Sandeno on Monday, Aug. 16.
"Lunch with Kaitlin Sandeno" is from noon to 2:00 p.m., and guests can take advantage of fresh fare prepared by the Oasis Cafe.
A 4-time Olympic medalist, Sandeno will give youngsters invaluable swimming pointers, sign autographs, pose for photos and answer questions about her successful career during her visit to the Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center located at 29 Santa Barbara.
Sandeno won silver, bronze and gold medals in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. She took home a bronze medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. She retired from the sport in 2008.
Out of the pool, she enjoys giving back to the community through motivational speaking and youth appearances.

The Aliso Viejo Community Association (AVCA) will host a concert in the park Sunday, Aug. 8 featuring a Jimmy Buffet tribute band that is sure to delight the masses.

Low Cost Pet Vaccines this Saturday Aug 7th

The Aliso Viejo Family Resource Center and Mission Viejo Animal Services Center will host a low-cost vaccination and microchip clinic on Saturday, Aug. 7.
The clinic will take place from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Family Resource Center at 24671 Via Iglesia. The center is conveniently located near Moulton and Calle Cortez.
Dog vaccines include the four-in-one vaccine (DA2PP) and the Bordetella vaccine for dogs 8 weeks and older. Cat vaccines include the four-in-one vaccine (FVRCP) for cats 8 weeks and older. Dog and cat rabies vaccines are $6 each. DA2PP and FVRCP vaccines are $14 each. Bordetella vaccine is $11 each. The FELV vaccine at $17 and the Lyme vaccine at $22 will also be available.
Pet owners can also have their animals licensed at the clinic. A license is required for all dogs starting at the age of 4 months.
Microchipping is available for $28. The cost includes registration and lifetime monitoring.
The vaccine clinic will accept cash only. Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers.
